Quick Update on Crozet Infrastructure Projects – Crozet Gazette

Improvements to The Square will include parking, sidewalks, and traffic flow.

A check-in with county officials on planned/potential Crozet improvements reveals the following details.

The Square

Complete Oak Street and add and improve parking in the area, and align roads and sidewalks with the future Barnes Lumber project design

  • Notice of Intent to Award (contract) was issued to Faulconer Construction on 10/7/24.
  • Contract should be awarded in next 2-3 weeks.
  • Construction is planned to begin prior to the end of 2024. (These dates are being finalized. The county is developing a communications plan to share information and key dates/milestones and traffic impacts with the community and businesses in the area.)
  • Construction will take approximately 12 months.

Eastern Avenue Connector

Establish a private developer partnership to build a road/bridge connecting Westhall Drive and Rt. 250

  • A draft (not final) Request For Proposals (RFP) should be complete in mid-November.
  • RFP posting/advertisement is anticipated to be in the first quarter of 2025.
