DAVENPORT — More than a year after the closure of Davenport’s Bed Bath & Beyond, another retailer is working to take over the space.

Fast-growing national chain Bob’s Discount Furniture has confirmed plans for a new location at 4022 E. 53rd St., where Bed Bath & Beyond operated until last year. The Davenport store was among dozens identified for closure as part of sweeping changes driven by the home goods company’s financial troubles.

The projected opening date for Bob’s Discount Furniture is Feb. 14, 2025, a spokesperson confirmed Friday.
