DAVENPORT — Media and entertainment store Disc Replay has closed at NorthPark Mall and will move to the former home of Plato’s Closet, 5254 Elmore Ave., between the new Plato’s Closet and Verizon.

Disc Replay Davenport employees prepare to move to their new 5254 Elmore Ave. location on May 22, 2024.

“The main reason behind the move was because an opportunity presented itself on Elmore, next to Plato’s Closet and Style Encore (coming later this year) to create an ultimate buying and selling experience,” said Jake Allen, co-owner and general manager. “All three in such close proximity, all three of which owned by the same owner, makes it a one-stop-shop for things everyone in the family can enjoy.”

The location also is closer to their Moline store, 3824 44th Ave.

All staff will transfer, with the addition of one new employee ahead of the move.

Allen said the new location on Elmore, while smaller, better aligns with existing locations. Of all the other Replay stores — Disc Replay Rockford, Mega Replay Peoria and Mega Replay Bloomington — the Davenport store will still be the largest.

“Although smaller, we are not cutting any categories that we already buy/sell and shouldn’t have an issue merchandising our current inventory into this space,” he said.

A grand reopening event is set for 10 a.m. Sunday, May 25. The event will feature giveaways, new releases, and appearances by 101.3 KISS FM and I-Rock 93.5.

Starbucks plans move in Moline

MOLINE — Starbucks at 3935 41st Avenue Drive, near Walmart in Moline, is moving to a new location — almost right across the street.

A company spokesperson confirmed plans to move operations to the northeast corner of John Deere and 41st Avenue.

The new store is set to open in winter 2024. Current employees at the existing Starbucks location will be transferred there.

The new location will be approximately 2,200 square feet and feature “enhanced customer experience, accessibility, and a drive-thru queue,” according to the spokesperson.
