The Poco M6 Pro 5G launched in August of last year, followed by the M6 in December and the M6 Pro 4G this January. And now it seems like we’re almost at the point where a new member will join the family. We are of course talking about the Poco M6 Plus 5G, which has already been certified in India by BIS last month.
Now it’s been spotted in the Google Play Console with the model number 24065PC95I, which means it will launch in India (that’s what the final “I” stands for). Furthermore, the launch could happen this month, since that’s the code that starts the model number – “24” for the year and “06” for the month. Do however keep in mind that this is not a given, sometimes Xiaomi / Redmi / Poco devices do get official earlier or later than those numbers would suggest.
The Google Play Console listing reveals that the phone’s screen will have 1080×2460 resolution, and it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM. Intriguingly, these specs are identical to those of the M6 Pro 5G, so hopefully other things will differ.
The Poco M6 Plus 5G is rumored to be a rebranding of the Redmi Note 13R, which launched in China last month. Which is fine and expected from the Xiaomi roster, except the differences between the Redmi Note 13R and the Poco M6 Pro 5G are minute – so we’re wondering why there was a need to launch an almost identical device.
All should hopefully be revealed (and explained) soon, so stay tuned.
