SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -Marcus Phillips was on the first Sioux Falls team to make to the Little League World Series and now he’s pitching for the College World Series Champions from Tennessee.
Today he was back home in Sioux Falls along with former teammates like Jack Radel, working with Sanford Sports Baseball Academy for a youth baseball camp. Something they both really enjoy now, after being one of those kids not that long ago.
Marcus Phillips, Tennessee Pitcher says, “I was just saying that I came here as a kid to the Legends camps that were hosted. Being able to come back and kind of help out with the kids any way that I can is really special to me and obviously my dad is a huge help around here as far as the camps go. But being able to help out with that, it’s awesome.”
Jack Radel, Notre Dame Pitcher says, “It’s just great to see that these kids are wanting to come out here and play ball in August and it’s just fun to be around these type of guys that have the same interests as me, seeing my old friends, seeing old coaches and just having fun with them.”
Marcus was on Calling All Sports with me yesterday. He’s hoping for one more season in Knoxville and then to get drafted and start his professional career.
