A Philadelphia-style hoagie shop is making a big move.
Hoageez reopened today, Nov 5, at the Hershey Square Shopping Center in Derry Township.
Earlier this year, owners Mike and Linda Martin announced they were relocating the shop at 422 Walton Ave. in Hummelstown as part of a consolidation. In May, they closed Hoageez at the West Shore Plaza in Lemoyne.
“This decision comes as we plan for the future with our aging parents in mind. This allows us the flexibility needed to assist them without being overstretched with two locations,” they shared on Facebook.
The Martins opened the Hummelstown location in 2012, specializing in “sliced to order” hoagies. The tiny takeout shop with no seating grew from their family’s love of Philadelphia’s food, and a desire to recreate that signature Philly style here in their hometown.
Many of the sandwiches are named after Philadelphia icons and landmarks including Rocky, South Philly, Broad Street and Hog Island. Rolls are sourced daily from Philadelphia and customers can pick from soft and chewy or hard and seeded rolls, as well as naked with no roll or wrap.
The Hershey Square shop offers more seating, new menu items and a combined staff.
