Kyley Pulphus-Smith has been hired as education director of KID smART.

Pulphus-Smith is an award-winning writer/director who spent several years working in children’s television in Los Angeles. She worked as a classroom teacher, teacher coach and teacher consultant for the Greater New Orleans Writing Project and founded a youth writing nonprofit that helped thousands of young people.

She earned a bachelor’s in communications from the University of New Orleans, a master’s in filmmaking from Florida State University and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from LSU.

KID smART provides New Orleans public school students with greater access to arts education.

Ally Byrd has joined Jones Walker as a partner in the litigation practice group and member of the personal injury and environmental litigation teams.

Byrd is an experienced personal injury defense litigator who has represented insurance companies and businesses in a range of cases, including trucking, premises liability and construction disputes.

She earned a bachelor’s in psychology from LSU, a law degree, cum laude and a graduate diploma in comparative law, both from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

Dr. Stacey A. Scheib has joined the Fertility Institute of New Orleans as a minimally invasive gynecological surgeon.

Scheib specializes in fertility surgeries and complex gynecological surgical needs, in addition to complex cases of endometriosis and pelvic pain. She is taking appointments at the Metairie and Mandeville locations of the Fertility Institute.

Scheib serves as an associate professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology at LSU Health New Orleans and previously was director of OB/GYN simulation at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

She earned a bachelor’s from Vanderbilt University and a medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. Scheib completed her OB/GYN residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and a surgical fellowship at Vanderbilt.

Baton Rouge

Dr. Leanne Redman has been named as director of Pennington Biomedical’s Nutrition Obesity Research Center.

Redman replaces Dr. Eric Ravussin, who held the director position for 19 years. She has been with Pennington for nearly six years as associate executive director for scientific education and professor of reproductive endocrinology and women’s health.

She earned a bachelor’s in human movement science from Southern Cross University, a doctorate in obstetrics and gynecology from the University of Adelaide and a master’s in clinical research from Tulane University. Redman completed a post-doctoral fellow at Ohio University.

The Pennington research center is one of 11 across the U.S. It supports new and ongoing research in nutrition and metabolic health.

Monique Gonzalez has been named associate dean and director of the law library and information technology services at LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

Gonzalez has more than two decades of legal experience, including working as an attorney, program administrator for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, associate director of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Library at Texas Southern University and as a senior research librarian with the firm of Norton Rose Fulbright.

She earned a bachelor’s from Texas A&M University, a master’s in library and information science from the University of North Texas and a law degree from Texas Southern.

Connor J. Krone has joined Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson as an associate in the casualty litigation section.

He earned a bachelor’s in criminology from LSU and a law degree from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
