Personnel moves at Baker Donelson, Tulane, Zehnder Communications

NEW ORLEANS

Ashley Francis has been named assistant dean of the Stewart Center for Professional & Executive Education at Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business.

Francis has been with the business school since 2020 as director of online learning. Before that, she spent nearly a decade at Loyola University in New Orleans as a teacher and administrator.

She earned a bachelor’s from Loyola and a master’s in business administration from Tulane.

Baker Donelson has added three associates to its New Orleans office.

Sophia Cefolia is a member of the advocacy department.

She earned a bachelor’s, summa cum laude, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a law degree, magna cum laude, from Tulane University Law School. During law school Cefolia served as a judicial clerk in the hearing unit of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

William “Will” Groves is a member of the corporate group.

He earned a bachelor’s in economics from LSU and a law degree, manga cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While in law school, Groves was editor of the Loyola Law Review.

Alexis A. Smith is a member of the advocacy department.

She earned a bachelor’s from LSU and a law degree, summa cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Smith served as a law clerk and judicial extern for U.S. District Judge Ivan L.R. Lemelle of New Orleans.

Katherine Simon has been promoted to associate director of account strategy for Zehnder Communications.

Simon has been with the agency since 2010, most recently serving as group account director.

BATON ROUGE

Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute has added three doctors to its medical oncology group.

The doctors all practice hematology oncology and will boost the institute’s treatment of blood cancers.

Dr. Pavani Ellipeddi earned her bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery and internal medicine internship at Kathmandu Medical College. She completed a residency at the Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Alabama, and fellowships in hospice and palliative medicine and hematology and oncology at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Christopher McCanless earned a medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine. He completed a residency and hematology/medical oncology fellowship at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

Dr. Gerald Miletello earned a medical degree from LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Earl K. Long Medical Center and residencies at LSU Medical College.

Dr. Timothy Gilbert has joined the staff of Pennington Biomedical Research Center as a clinical research physician and director of the Diabetes and Metabolism Care Clinic.

Gilbert is a clinical endocrinologist with more than 15 years of experience in the management of patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. He is the founder and former medical director the Diabetes Education Center and the Endocrinology Center of Southwest Louisiana. Before going to medical school, he was a critical care nurse for 4 years. 

He earned a bachelor’s in nursing and biological sciences from McNeese State University and a medical degree from LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine. Gilbert completed a residency at LSU Health Science Center and a fellowship at Ochsner Health Systems.

Brew Agency, a branding and advertising firm, has added four employees.

Mark Vincent is the agency’s first director of business development. He has more than 20 years of sales and business development experience.

David Catoire is chief creative officer. He has 25 years of experience with agencies, including a stint with MESH.

Meghan Sellers is creative director. She previously served as art director for Brew and is returning to the agency after working in Austin.

Leigh Auzenne is account coordinator. She has worked with clients such as PepsiCo/Frito Lay, LSU and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
