Peoples Bank has announced the centennial of its headquarters building at 138 Putnam St.
To commemorate this significant milestone, the bank has commissioned a mural celebrating Marietta’s rich history. The artwork, created in collaboration with the Marietta Main Street Arts Committee, now adorns the exterior wall at the corner of Union and Second streets.
The community is invited to join in the festivities today at 4:30 p.m. at Union Street and Second Street for the official ribbon cutting ceremony with the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, followed by Marietta Main Street’s First Friday.
This event offers a perfect opportunity for the public to view the new mural and participate in this historic moment. Sweets and coffee will be provided while supplies last.
Founded in Marietta in 1902, Peoples Bank has cultivated a culture deeply rooted in building meaningful and lasting relationships. The bank’s move to its current Putnam Street location on October 18, 1924, marked a significant chapter in its growth. As Peoples Bank celebrates this centennial, it reaffirms its commitment to its vision to be the Best Community Bank in America.
