Mangopay, the modular and flexible payment infrastructure provider for platforms, reinforces its commitment to the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem, announcing partnerships with three fast-growing businesses including Filmo, Kuarere and Webel. The agreements with these three new Spanish platform clients increases Mangopay’s presence in sectors including media, entertainment and home delivery services.
Mangopay is providing the payment infrastructure for the rapidly-growing B2C platform Webel, which grew tenfold in both 2022 and 2023, with 2.5 million euros in bookings last year. The on-demand home service platform is based on an application that allows users to book home-based services from more than 30 different categories, ranging from cleaning, tutoring, care or beauty services. Today, Webel has more than 400,000 users and is available in 13 Spanish cities, with plans for international expansion.
Founded just three years ago, Filmo is an innovative B2B2C platform that allows individuals and companies to rent audiovisual material through a mobile app, acting as a facilitator for users looking to rent out their equipment securely. The Filmo community already has more than 5,000 users and 1,500 audiovisual products registered on the platform with a value of more than €3.5 million. In April this year, Filmo launched its B2B service for businesses, attracting more than 100 industry suppliers and achieving 75% growth in just one month.
Kuarere is a C2B platform for renting space for audiovisual productions, filming, events, commercials or movies. It features more than 4,000 properties across Spain, ranging from shopping malls to homes that hosts can rent out for days or even hours. Among its 10,000 plus registered users are both professional and amateur content creators working on personal projects, and large production companies.
Nicolas Fournié, Country Manager for Mangopay in Spain, said: “We are excited to welcome these three revolutionary companies – Filmo, Kuarere and Webel – to our client base in Spain and to drive their growth and innovation in their respective sectors. At Mangopay, we specialise in helping platforms of all types to select and create the payment solution they need to succeed – whether they are new to the market or have an established presence. These partnerships strengthen our position as a digital payments leader, and consolidate our presence in key sectors in Spain.”
Created around a programmable e-wallet solution, Mangopay provides a modular, scalable and agile payment infrastructure, capable of meeting the specific needs of platforms in different stages of growth. For this reason, it has been instrumental in success stories such as Wallapop, a leading platform for buying and selling second-hand products, which implemented Mangopay’s payment infrastructure in 2015, at its inception, and with a collaboration that has continued throughout its extensive growth trajectory.
Mangopay will also be present at booth number 25 of the Marketplace Summit on the 20th of June in Madrid, Spain. Nacho Tejero, Co-Founder & CEO of WEBEL, will be speaking on a panel moderated by Nicolas Fournié from Mangopay at 10am to 1030am, entitled: Services in the Digital Ecosystem: Innovation and Opportunities in Marketplaces.
