– The Paso Robles Police Department, Target and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast teamed up to bring holiday cheer to local youth through the “Heroes and Helpers” holiday shopping event. The event took place on Dec. 12 at the Target store in Paso Robles.

The “Heroes and Helpers” program paired local children with police officers for a festive shopping spree. Through a grant from Target, 15 children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast each received a $100 gift card to shop for holiday gifts for themselves and their families. Members of the Paso Robles Police Department assisted the children during their shopping experience.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Target and the Paso Robles Police Department for this incredible event,” said Maria Fabula, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast. “The joy on the faces of our youth as they shop alongside their community heroes will be truly priceless. It’s a beautiful reminder of the power of coming together to make a difference.”

The event began with a meet-and-greet for participating children and their families at the Paso Robles Police Department before heading to the Target store to shop. Organizers said the event provided an opportunity for youth to engage with local first responders in a positive setting.
