Maverick Cares is hosting a back-to-school supply giveaway for families in need at Maverick Gaming properties, including the Crazy Moose Casino at 510 S. 20th. Ave. in Pasco.
The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, and aims to supply backpacks and school supplies for elementary, middle and high school students for the 2024-25 school year.
Kits will be distributed while supplies last, and include a backpack, red pens, highlighters, permanent black markers, protractors, college-ruled composition notebooks, scissors (both sharp and blunt), ruled filler paper, Crayola markers, pencils, colored pencils, rulers, glue sticks, erasers, Crayola crayons, pocket folders and pencil boxes.
“Inflation has made the required supplies for school more expensive than ever and our team is proud to help families worry about one less household expense as their students return to the classroom,” said Eric Persson, Maverick Gaming CEO and co-founder, in a statement.
Maverick Cares has hosted regular charitable events at Maverick Gaming properties throughout the state since it was founded in 2019. It is an employee-led project.
