The 2024 Paris Paralympics begin today and Rayven Sample, seen above in this 2021 photo, will be competing in track & field. The Cassadaga Valley Central School and Bucknell University graduate will run the 400 meters on Sept. 6 after earning a spot on the United States team last month. Being named to his second Paralympic team adds to Sample’s list of accomplishments dating back to his athletic career with the Falconer/Cassadaga Valley merged soccer, cross country and track & field teams. Last November, he earned a bronze medal in the men’s T47 400 meters at the Parapan-American Games in Santiago, Chile, and prior to that, he was a member of the 2021 Paralympic team where he reached the 400-meter finals in Tokyo.
