Law enforcement and Fredonia Fire Department are pictured investigating a bomb threat at Crosby’s on Main Street in Fredonia. At 8:50 a.m., the area is being evacuated. As of 10:45 a.m. the incident has been resolved, according to village Mayor Michael Ferguson.

Two people face charges in connection with a bomb threat that shook downtown Fredonia Thursday morning.

Jayden Feaster, 20, and Melinda Jackson, 45, both reporting to be homeless, were charged with falsely reporting an incident. That’s a Class D felony under state penal law.

Fredonia Police Chief David Price reported the arrests in a Monday afternoon press release.

The incident centered around a gas station on Main Street. As Price noted, much of the Fredonia business district and a portion of Main Street (which carries Route 20) were closed for several hours due to the incident.

“Per New York State bail requirements, both were released with a desk appearance ticket, scheduled to appear in the Village Justice Court on a later date,” the chief added.
