BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Over $700,000 has been awarded to Bedford County to help make water infrastructure upgrades and help small businesses.

Senator Bob Casey made the announcement on Friday, June 14 during a press conference. That money is coming from the federal appropriations bill to upgrade the county’s water infrastructure.

More than 300,000 is going to the Bedford County Development Association to help small-town businesses grow and more than $400,000 is going specifically to improve the water infrastructure at the historic Bedford Fairgrounds.

“The economic boost that it brings to the community, the pride that it brings to the community. You can’t have a county fair if you don’t have the kinda upgrades. You need the wastewater, drinking water, or other water infrastructures. It’s a true asset for this community,” Bob Casey said.
