Orro, an Australian platform-enabled secure network and digital infrastructure provider, announced Tuesday the launch of its Operational Technology (OT) focused division; Orro Critical Infrastructure. Through this increased capability, Orro can now offer specialist services in the planning, building, and running of highly available and secure industrial OT environments, covering network, cyber, distributed cloud, and private LTE wireless infrastructure.

The offering will assess and stabilize existing critical infrastructure assets, then work with industry regulators and clients to recommend and transform key elements to ensure operational excellence, as well as enhanced safety outcomes. These services will then be securely connected and operated by Orro’s dedicated OT SOC/NOC practice.

The new services come at a time when the industrial technology landscape is undergoing rapid transformation, where rising cyber threats are exploiting vulnerabilities in internal processes and posing risks to critical infrastructure assets. This shift is driven by industry and government compliance requirements, as well as the imperative to enhance business value through the integration of OT and IT data. In this environment, Orro’s new services are vital for businesses looking to strengthen defenses and optimize organizational operations.

Daniel Greengarten, CEO at Orro, commented on the launch: “This new service comes as we continue to expand our full-stack production-ready offering, driving our vision of delivering Securely Connected Everything for our customers. We’re looking forward to collaborating with Australia’s operational technology community, and to assisting our customers to plan, build, run, and secure their critical infrastructure.”

He added, “We have invested in our operational capabilities, establishing a specialist OT team to help us transition and provide complete confidence to our customers which will enable them to focus on the business of their business.”

Orro will launch a new Security Operation Centre (SOC) specifically for OT customers and environments. This IT of OT-based SOC will provide real-time protection against potential attacks and ensure that cyber security capabilities meet customer demands across the whole of their business operations, whilst offering insight to maintenance debt, availability, safety, and production outcomes.

Christopher Mahar, managing director of Orro Critical Infrastructure said, “We are thrilled to release Orro’s Critical Infrastructure capability to key OT industry sectors. Orro Critical Infrastructure is focused on navigating the nuances of OT production environments, in which the IT elements of OT can be effectively managed using pragmatic best practices from both disciplines, whilst prioritizing production, safety, and security outcomes.

“Orro’s experience working in close partnership with customers that manage extensive OT environments highlighted the need for increased critical infrastructure capabilities. Existing Orro customers across a range of sectors, including energy, transport and logistics, healthcare, retail, as well as a variety of state government entities, can all benefit from these expanded capabilities.”
