Oprah’s Favorite Things list is here, with kitchen gifts starting at just $30

Must read

Mariah Carey might be the unofficial “Queen of Christmas,” but when it comes to gifts, there’s someone else who reigns supreme. We’re talking about Oprah Winfrey, of course: Each year, the media mogul lends her exquisite taste to the eagerly awaited Oprah’s Favorite Things list, which features loads of gift ideas to suit every taste and budget. (Check out our roundup of Oprah’s under-$50 picks that’ll make your wallet happy.) The 2024 edition dropped last week and is filled with fab finds, from clothing and beauty to tech gadgets and edible gifts.

As a former professional baker who now writes about home products for a living, I’m always interested in seeing her kitchen picks, and this year’s roster spans everything from cookware to countertop appliances — with prices starting at a reasonable $30.

It’s not uncommon for Oprah’s faves to sell out, so if something catches your eye, add it to your cart while it’s still in stock. And hey, you’ll be able to beat the holiday shopping rush by checking items off your list early! Keep scrolling to see what made the cut for 2024.

Mugs might not be the most personal gifts, but they’re certainly crowd-pleasers — and this attractive duo has a unique shape that’ll stand out from the others in the cupboard. Plus, the price is right at $18 a pop.

Oprah says: “Ayesha Curry, founder of Sweet July, understands that some of us want our hot coffee (or hot chocolate) to be just that — hot. And is there a better-looking option than these 16-ounce hand-thrown ceramic mugs?”

Your recipient can reach for the pieces in this smart collection whenever the desire for cozy food strikes, whether that means baking brownies, roasting vegetables or something in between.

Oprah says: “Chrissy Teigen has created a baking set that will appeal to type-A chefs and picky eaters alike. The silicone trays come in different sizes (to cook multiple dishes at once) and with lids (so any leftovers can go straight in the fridge).”

Why brave the cold for dessert when this multitasking machine is essentially like having a scoop shop right in your own kitchen?

Oprah says: “If you scream for ice cream — or sorbet, slushies, gelato, Italian ice, frozen yogurt — then this handy device is for you. Just three steps to a creamy, sweet treat.”

(Psst — Yahoo’s own Senior Tech Writer, Rick Broida, tried out one of these gadgets. Read his Ninja Creami review for more.)

How stunning are these colorful sippers — and at less than $11 per glass? Cheers to that!

Oprah says: “This set of six pretty champagne coupes — in the shape of delicate blossoming flowers — is just one more reason to raise a glass this holiday season. Savvy hosts will serve sorbet or sundaes in them come summer.”

If there’s one thing every well-stocked kitchen needs, it’s a sharp knife set. The collection pictured here includes all the essentials: an 8-inch chef’s knife, a 6-inch utility knife, a 3.5-inch paring knife, an 8-inch carving knife, a 7-inch heavy-weight fork, four 5-inch steak knives and a magnetic knife block.

Oprah says: “This women-owned business originally developed this line for a culinary school. Now chefs and cooking newbies can appreciate the balance and heft of each blade and how great the block looks on their counter.”

It’s a bit of an investment, but if there’s someone on your list who loves to cook (and has limited kitchen space), they’ll adore this workhorse of an appliance that can essentially do everything a full-size oven does. Plus, it’s so pretty that they won’t mind having it out on display.

Oprah says: “This countertop device toasts, air-fries, bakes, dehydrates, roasts— and nine other things! — which makes it just right for the multitaskers in your life.”

Anyone ready to swap their mismatched dishes for a cohesive collection will be delighted by this retro-with-a-modern-feel assortment. Not only will these plates and bowls go with everything, they also won’t pose any risk of shattering.

Oprah says: “I remember these! Originally designed in 1964 by Lella and Massimo Vignelli, this set, which includes stackable melamine dinner and salad plates, soup bowls and a serving platter, is just right for design lovers (it’s in the collection at New York’s MoMA). And anyone with little kitchen storage will appreciate how ingeniously the set stacks together.”

Are there less expensive kitchen accessories sets out there? Yes, but chances are they don’t have the cool factor this one does. Oh, and these pieces aren’t just good-looking — they also boast five layers of insulation to protect hands from hot cooking vessels.

Oprah says: “Who else but a former jeans designer would come up with this good-looking and useful set? The recycled denim pan-handle holder, oven mitt, and trivet mean no person (or counter) will be injured in the making of your next hot dish.”

Shopping for someone who’s serious about popcorn? One reviewer wrote, “If Apple made a popcorn popper, it wouldn’t be this nice.” So chic!

Oprah says: “No more burnt kernels? Not a single one when we tested this stovetop popper with an ingenious spinning mechanism. You can add butter (or other flavors) and have a fresh batch in under five minutes. Which is great, because movie night is a big night at my house.”
