Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa questioned why government was in a hurry to implement the NEP. He questioned the quality of master trainers. He also questioned why students would not offered foreign languages.
Chief Minister and Education Minister Pramod Sawant said that there was a modification of the circular and under R3 foreign language such as French, Portuguese, German and other languages were offered to students.
When questioned about the full day school and the absence of infrastructure such as toilets and canteen, CM admitted that 100% infrastructure was not there. He said government school would develop their infrastructure and aided schools’ management had to develop the infrastructure.
Aldona MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira alleged a hotchpotch between aspects of NCERT and CBSE elements in Goa’s NEP implementation. He also questioned how the quantum of syllabus would be adjusted with half day classes.
CM said that NCRF was mandatory for all boards and not only for CBSE. Â
