On Friday night, the Havre Northstars returned to winning ways on Senior Day, defeating the Great Falls Chargers, (10-0) in six innings and (14-3) in five innings, respectively.
Terek Shipp, the team’s lone senior, got the ball and tossed a shutout in game one, firing six innings of four-hit ball. He also recorded the mercy-rule enacting hit by singling in Colter Solomon in the sixth inning to walk it off for the Northstars.
In game two, the floodgates opened early as Havre scored four times in the bottom of the first inning. They scored three times in the second, three times in the third, and five times in the fourth after allowing three in the top of the inning.
The Northstars will close out the regular season with one final doubleheader at home against the Tri-County Cardinals. First pitch from American Legion Park is at 1pm on Sunday.
