DEWEYVILLE – The Bear River Association of Governments has announced that the Permanent Community Impact Board (CIB) has granted over $500,000 for improvements in Box Elder and Rich counties.
The largest project was awarded to Deweyville in the amount of $348,000. The small Box Elder County community will use those funds for a town hall parking lot improvement project. In addition to serving the small town hall, the parking lot is also adjacent to Deweyville Park, which features large grassy areas, a softball field and baseball diamond located at 10855 North 3000 West.
The board also approved a $165,200 grant for road improvements for the Town of Randolph in Rich County.
“Upgrading our road systems is essential for ensuring safe travel in our rural areas,” says Bruce Adams, board member and San Juan County commissioner. “The financial support from the Permanent Community Impact Board underscores our ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents.”
The Permanent Community Impact Board awards grants and low-interest loans to cities, towns, and counties from funds directed to the CIB from mining and oil and gas extraction on federal land.
