North Tulsa shopping center to be revitalized

Must read

“In three weeks this whole complex will be painted,” said Harold Jones.

Keeping up with the Joneses, that is tough to do when you consider the rapid progress of Harold and Natalie Jones. Six month ago the opened NovaStar Express Urgent Care on North Peoria and E. 50th Place

“The response is good. I have patients every day, all day,” said Natalie Jones.

Their facility is located right across the street from what used to be a North Tulsa shopping destination.

“Northridge was a staple in the Tulsa in the 70’s, 80’s when my husband was growing up,” she said.

But, just like the main sign, it’s seen better days. But better days are now in it’s future.

“We bought 58,000 square feet,” said Mr. Jones.

The Joneses have bought the whole area, with major plans for revitalization, including moving their clinic across the street and expanding services.

“We are going to bring primary care, mental health, dentistry, women’s health, all into one spot with the urgent care,” said Mrs. Jones.

There’s plans for two restaurants, a place to get an oil change, and more.

“One of the most exciting things that I like is we’re getting ready to do a donut coffee shop and this will be derived from if you see a lot of the older elder guys going to donut shops early in the morning, well they don’t have anywhere in this community to go,” said Mr. Jones.

“So it’s going to be a whole different environment here,” said Janice Fitzpatrick. She operates Addies Thrift store and is excited about the overhaul.

“I am so happy that they, they’re going to completely redo this place, and it needs to be,” she said.

“When you invest in this community you begin to repair, you begin to sustain, and then you can reclaim the community with education,” said Mr. Jones.

A new day for Northridge, coming soon courtesy of the Joneses.

“So we’re just wanting to bring back some of the goodness to the north side,” said Mrs. Jones.

“This is good investment out here. You can come north, buy cheap, and begin to build your brand right here in the community,” said Mr. Jones.
