NFL scores: Jayden Daniels’ Hail Mary lifts Commanders over Bears in epic finish in Washington

Must read

The marquee matchup of Week 8 ended with an absolutely epic play. Jayden Daniels connected with Noah Brown on a Hail Mary as time expired in Washington to give the Commanders an 18-15 win over the Bears. Take a look:

The incredible finish was made possible after the Bears took their first lead of the game in the final minute on a Roschon Johnson touchdown run. Chicago had been outplayed on the stat sheet for much of the game, but ran the ball well in the second half. D’Andre Swift rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown in the loss, but the Bears’ passing game couldn’t get going, as Caleb Williams completed just 10 of 24 passes for 131 yards.

Jayden Daniels wound up with 326 passing yards and that epic, game-winning touchdown pass just a week removed from a rib injury that knocked him out of a comfortable Commanders win over the Panthers in Week 7.

Those Panthers were in Denver in Week 8, where the Broncos came out with a 28-14 victory. In Las Vegas, the Chiefs remained unbeaten with a 27-20 win over the Raiders. Travis Kelce caught his first touchdown pass of the season and Patrick Mahomes became the fastest quarterback in NFL history to reach 30,000 passing yards (103 games).
