NFL DFS: Optimizer makes Week 7, 2024 daily fantasy football lineup picks, projections for DraftKings, FanDuel

Must read

Lions tight end Sam LaPorta only had one reception on one target last week, but he made the most of it with a 52-yard touchdown. Despite being a top-two tight end selected in 2024 Fantasy football drafts, he’s TE16 on the season. The Lions vs. Vikings have an over/under of 50.5 points, according to the latest Week 7 odds from the SportsLine consensus, and since it is one of the highest totals of the week in the latest NFL odds, should LaPorta be in NFL DFS lineups? Can you create NFL DFS stacks with LaPorta and quarterback Jared Goff against the Vikings? Before making any NFL DFS picks for Sunday or locking in NFL DFS lineups on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, be sure to check out SportsLine’s NFL DFS lineup optimizer.

Top NFL Week 7 DFS picks for Sunday

One of the optimizer’s top DFS value picks for Sunday is Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins ($6,300 on DraftKings, $7,200 on FanDuel). The 13-year NFL quarterback threw for more than 4,000 yards in each of his last three full seasons before tearing his Achilles midway through last year with the Vikings. Cousins could have been on his way to a career season that year, averaging 291.4 passing yards per game, the second-most of his career and most since 2016. The 36-year-old has proven his strong arm is still there as displayed with 509 yards and four touchdowns against Tampa Bay on Thursday Night Football in Week 5.

Cousins returns to Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the first time since that 509-yard performance when the Falcons play the Seahawks on Sunday. The Seahawks allowed the third-most yards per game in the NFL last season and the defense hasn’t seemed to improve much this year, especially as of late. Lions quarterback Jared Goff completed 18 of 18 passes with two touchdowns against Seattle this season as the Seahawks have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in three straight games. Seattle’s top two cornerbacks Riq Woolen (ankle) and Tre Brown (ankle) haven’t practiced this week as Cousins could be in line for another huge passing total at a value price for NFL DFS lineups.

The optimizer’s NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Browns tight end David Njoku ($4,100 on DraftKings, $5,300 on FanDuel). The Browns are receiving a reinforcement this week with running back Nick Chubb expected to make his season debut following his torn ACL and MCL suffered last year but they are also playing their first game since trading Amari Cooper to the Bills on Tuesday. Chubb should be able to help move the ball in his first game back while Njoku potentially receives a higher target share and touchdown opportunities without Cooper running routes.

Njoku was Cleveland’s leading receiver in Week 1 with four receptions for 44 yards before suffering an ankle injury that cost him the next three weeks. The 28-year-old was the TE1 in Fantasy football over the final 11 weeks last season in both total points and on a points-per-game basis and in what’s been a challenging season for top tight ends in Fantasy football, Njoku has the potential to repeat that success. The Browns play the Bengals, who rank 23rd in yards allowed (356 yards per game) and 25th in scoring defense (25.3 points per game) while allowing three touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season, which is tied for the second-most in the NFL. You can see the rest of the optimizer’s NFL DFS picks here.
