SCORE to host free sales, business insurance seminars

SCORE BR will host two free in-person business seminars Tuesday at the Reimagine Women’s Center, 7600 Airline Highway, in Baton Rouge. 

The first event at 6:30 p.m. will cover basic sales skills for industries such as consulting, retail, e-commerce, coaching, services and product sales. 

The second event at 7:30 p.m. will discuss business insurance basics.

Tulane Business Forum set for Friday

The Tulane Association of Business Alumni will host its 45th annual forum, “Powering the Wave: Innovation, Trade and Economic Resilience,” from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday in the La Nouvelle Orléans Ballroom in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Keynote speakers at the event include Dan R. Brouillette, president and CEO of the Edison Electric Institute and former U.S. Secretary of Energy; John M. Hairston, president and CEO of Hancock Whitney; and D. Shane Loper, president of Hancock Whitney Bank.

Presenters include Marcus V. Brown, executive vice president and general counsel of Entergy Corp. and chair of the Super Bowl LIX Committee; Kim M. Boyle, vice managing partner at Phelps Dunbar, Todd Marshall, vice president-CIO of Pool Corp.; and Janine M. Mansour, director of trade development for the Port of New Orleans.

Baton Rouge Black Chamber to host proposal writing workshop

The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce will hold a proposal writing workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Vivid Images, 2167 Beaumont Drive, in Baton Rouge.

The event will provide resources and guidance on how to prepare new business proposals and will focus on areas such as capacity building, team development, documentation and processes, relationship building and pitching services.
