New Liberty Hill Deputy City Manager prioritize infrastructure needs, forming relationships

Must read

Mike Etienne, Liberty Hill’s new deputy city manager, said he’s working to get to know the community and become familiar with the needs of the area.

A meet and greet for Etienne was held Oct. 18 at City Hall, and as elected officials and community leaders mingled, he spoke to Community Impact about his priorities as he starts in his new position.

In his own words

“The very first goal right now is to get to know the community,” he said. “Just go and meet as many people as possible, understand what the challenges are and try to build relationships.”

Once he’s acquainted with the community, Etienne said coming up with a strategy to address the city’s infrastructure needs, including finding a sustainable source of water and working with city council, are his next goals.

He said addressing wastewater needs will also be a priority as the city tries to keep up with expected growth.

“This community is growing very fast, so the question is: ‘How do we control that growth? How do we grow the right way?’” Etienne said.
