New hires at Fishman Haygood, Degan, Blanchard & Nash, Woman’s Hospital

Degan, Blanchard & Nash recently hired three attorneys.

Amanda Hamm is an of counsel attorney, specializing in professional liability, including medical and dental malpractice defense. She earned a bachelor’s in political science from Baylor University and a law degree, cum laude, from Southern University Law Center. Hamm finished in the top 10 of her graduating class.

Lisa Maher is an of counsel attorney who has more than three decades of expertise in insurance coverage, insurance defense and complex litigation. She earned her law degree from Loyola University School of Law.

Katherine Kovach is an associate attorney, who focuses her practice on workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, toxic tort, product, premises liability and casualty insurance defense. She earned a bachelor’s in business and economics from Lehigh University and a law degree from Loyola University New Orleans.

Sharonda Williams has rejoined the staff of Fishman Haygood as special counsel.

Williams practiced with the firm from 2016 to 2021, before being hired as vice president, general counsel and director of government affairs for Loyola University New Orleans.

She will retain her job at Loyola, providing in-house counsel for the university.

Williams has a background in public and private practice. She served as chief deputy city attorney and city attorney for New Orleans for more than four years.

Williams currently serves as secretary-treasurer of the Port of New Orleans, secretary of the Urban League of Louisiana, and board member of the Federal Bar Association – New Orleans Chapter.

She earned a bachelor’s from Xavier University New Orleans and a law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While in school, Williams was a member of the Loyola Law Review.

Jon Picou has been promoted to chief information technology officer and executive vice president of Resource Bank.

Picou has been with the bank since 2015, serving as information technology director. Before joining the bank, he served in the Air Force and worked with the Marine Corps and Coast Guard. He is a chief master sergeant with the Louisiana Air National Guard.

He earned a bachelor’s in information technology and a master’s in business administration, both from the University of Phoenix.

Baton Rouge

Dr. Lindsey Fauveau and Dr. Gabrielle Hawkins have joined the cancer prevention and treatment team at Woman’s Hospital.

Fauveau is a surgeon in the Woman’s Breast Specialists Clinic. She has more than a decade of experience, specializing in breast cancer surgeries and advanced surgical techniques like oncoplastic and hidden scar breast surgeries.

She earned an undergraduate degree from LSU and her medical degree with high honors from Ross University School of Medicine. Fauveau completed a general surgery residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Baylor University Medical Center

Hawkins is a surgeon in the Woman’s GYN Oncology Clinic. She has more than a decade of experience, specializing in the prevention, detection and treatment of gynecologic cancers.

She earned a master’s in biological sciences from Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University and a medical degree, with high honors, from the University of Virginia. Hawkins completed a obstetrics and gynecology residency and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology, all at the University of North Carolina Hospitals.

Dr. Olivia Ragusa, a family medicine physician, has joined Baton Rouge General.

Ragusa will treat patients at Baton Rouge Family, Baton Rouge General’s largest primary care practice.

She earned her medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine and completed her residency at Baton Rouge General’s Family Medicine Residency Program.

Eric Starkey has been named chief technology officer of Neighbors Federal Credit Union.

Starkey has more than 20 years of experience in information technology management, most recently serving as chief information officer for Louisiana Federal Credit Union.

He earned a bachelor’s in general studies and a master’s in business administration, both from Southeastern Louisiana University.
