New Braunfels to enhance road infrastructure in anticipation of new Top Golf site

A new Top Golf location is set to be built at the New Braunfels Town Center at Creekside, promising to boost the city’s revenue.

However, some locals are raising concerns about whether the existing infrastructure can handle the anticipated influx of visitors.

Jared Warner, the assistant city manager, acknowledged the excitement surrounding the new businesses but noted potential management challenges, especially in one of the fastest-growing cities in America.

“We’re excited for the direct economic impact, but more so, we think the indirect economic benefits will be significant as well,” he said.

Warner emphasized that these developments are vital for the city’s overall growth.

The area already experiences significant traffic, particularly due to the nearby Buc-ee’s gas station and several apartment complexes.

While many residents of these complexes chose not to speak on camera, concerns about increased traffic were prevalent.

Warner assured residents that their worries have been addressed.

He highlighted that the city’s 2023 bond program includes three major road rehabilitation projects aimed at alleviating traffic congestion. “These improvements will certainly help both visitors and residents in the area,” he said.

As New Braunfels prepares for its continued growth, Warner stated that the city will keep seeking effective ways to meet the needs of both visitors and long-time residents.

“We simply see Top Golf as building upon the many experiences that our residents and guests can enjoy here in New Braunfels,” he added.
