New board member at La Capitol FCU, changes at Junior League of New Orleans

First National Bankers Bank recently elected four new members to its board of directors.

Joining the board are:

  • Lucie Beeley, CEO of Georgia Community Bank in Dawson, Georgia
  • David Dotherow, president and CEO of Winter Park National Bank in Winter Park, Florida
  • Pieter van Vuuren, president and CEO of First National Bank of Middle Tennessee in McMinnville, Tennessee
  • Mark Wilson, president and COO of First Arkansas Bank and Trust in Jacksonville, Arkansas

First National Bankers, chartered in 1983, has offices in Baton Rouge; Shreveport; Birmingham, Alabama; Little Rock, Arkansas; Lake Mary, Florida; and Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Stephanie Blanchard has been selected to serve on the La Capitol Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.

Blanchard replaces longtime board member and treasurer James “Jimmy” Thibodaux, who died in February.

Blanchard, a debt analyst, has worked for nearly a decade on the State Bond Commission. Before that, she spent 17 years as a fiscal analyst with the Louisiana Legislative Fiscal Office.

She has served on the La Cap Supervisory Committee since 2020.

Alice Glenn, past president of Junior League of New Orleans, has assumed the role of president for the Association of Junior Leagues International.

She was recently inducted during the organization’s annual conference in New Orleans.

Tara Waldron has been sworn in as the new president of the Junior League of New Orleans.

Visit Baton Rouge recently honored two members of the local hospitality community as part of National Travel and Tourism Week.

Coby Mallet, banquet manager at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center, was presented with the Excellence in Service Award. Mallet has been with the hotel for three years.

Laura Siu Nguyen was presented with the Community Leadership Award. Siu Nguyen planned and executed in May 2023 the first Night Market BTR, which drew about 2,000 attendees and showcased Asian American communities. This year’s market was held downtown, attracting more than 10,000 people and 42 local vendors.
