NBCUniversal‘s head of diversity, equity and inclusion for TV programming is moving up the executive ladder.

Jeanne Mau has been promoted to executive vp for TV programming DEI at the company. She had been at the senior vp level since joining NBCU in 2021. Mau will continue to report to Universal Studio Group chairman Pearlena Igbokwe and NBCU Entertainment chairman Frances Berwick.

“Over the past three years, Jeanne has systematically expanded and elevated our inclusion efforts in television. She has introduced us to new voices in front of and behind the camera and become an invaluable resource to our showrunners and internal creative teams,” Igbokwe and Berwick said in a statement. “We remain committed to our principles and, as we look to the future, Jeanne will continue to serve a critical role in our business by supporting our goal of producing compelling content that appeals to global audiences.”

During her time at NBCUniversal, Mau has sheperded the company’s NBCU Launch initiative, which brings together diversity and inclusion efforts across NBCU’s linear networks, Peacock streaming service and the studio group. She also updated the company’s writing and directing programs and launched the first major inclusion efforts in unscripted programming at NBCU.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Mau spent two decades at CBS, rising to senior vp diversity and inclusion. She is also an advisory board member for the Alliance of Women Directors.
