The reserves will join the starters who were announced last week at the All-Star Game in the Chase Center in San Francisco on Feb. 16. Starters were chosen via a vote of fans, players and media. The All-Star game format has been once again changed for this year. Instead of the traditional one game either contested by two teams representing either the respective conferences or squads drafted by opposing superstars, it will be a three-game mini tournament.

The 24 All-Stars will be distributed into three teams selected by TNT “Inside the NBA” commentators Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley. The fourth team will be the winning team from the Rising Stars challenge — which has featured a a similar three-game tournament for three years. TNT commentator and seven-time WNBA All-Star Candace Parker will serve as GM for the emerging Rising Stars team.
