SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. — Google listings of some schools in Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama were tampered with on Tuesday.
Navarre High School, among others, had their names edited or replaced with inappropriate phrases. Instead of seeing Navarre High School after entering the name into your Google browser, “Diddy’s playhouse” is the search result.
Santa RosaCounty District Schools say it is “aware of a potential hack affecting our Google search results.”
They confirmed that other schools in neighboring districts are experiencing the same.
“We take this matter seriously and are actively working to resolve the issue with Google,” says the district. “The incident has been reported to Google who handles the search functionality.”
