National Sports Law Institute 35th anniversary annual conference, Oct. 18  | Marquette Today

As part of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of its creation, the National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University Law School and its 35th Anniversary CLE Series, the Institute’s annual fall conference, “Perspectives on 35 Years of Sports Law,” will take place on Friday, Oct. 18. 

The program will feature presentations from sports law professors and scholars providing perspectives on the development of sports law and its impact on antitrust law, labor law, Olympic sports and arbitration, gambling, esports, disability and mental health, constitutional rights, gender equity, and race and representation.  The conference will also feature a report on teaching sports law at U.S. law schools, and a presentation on the creation of the National Sports Law Institute at Marquette University Law School.  

The program will run from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. in the Lubar Center on the first floor of Eckstein Hall, the home of Marquette University Law School. Register online

Founded in 1989, the National Sports Law Institute’s mission is to be the leading national educational and research institute for the study of legal, ethical, and business issues affecting amateur and professional sports from both an academic and practical perspective.
