Burton LeBlanc, a shareholder with Baron & Budd, has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
The counsel is an honorary society for trial lawyers. Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation. Less than one-half of 1% of American lawyers make up the counsel.
LeBlanc is an attorney in the firm’s Baton Rouge office.
He earned a bachelor’s from LSU and a law degree from Loyola University School of Law.

Willie E. Smith Sr., chancellor of Baton Rouge Community College, has been elected as a representative to the Board of Directors of the American Association of Community Colleges.
Smith will serve a three-year term on the 32-member board. The community college organization is the main advocacy for the nation’s community colleges, representing over 1,000 two-year, associate degree-granting institutions and nearly 12 million students.
Smith has worked for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System for 23 years. He was named chancellor of BRCC in June 2019.
