My Holiday Wish List Is Full of Walmart’s Biggest Names in Kitchenware

Must read

It’s finally the most wonderful time of the year—the holiday shopping season. Over the next two months, friends and family will gather for elaborate and decadent meals and exchange thoughtful gifts from carefully crafted holiday wish lists. But, in my opinion as a shopping professional, the very best gift of all is the one you picked out yourself.

I spend all day, every day shopping at Walmart, and when I’m not browsing the digital shelves for my work, I’m doing my second favorite thing: cooking. Marrying those two passions means my own holiday wish list is jam-packed with the very best kitchenware Walmart has to offer. I’m eyeing a Staub tomato cocotte, Drew Barrymore’s beautiful (pun intended) slow cooker, The Pioneer Woman’s lovely, floral rectangular baker, a uniform and versatile food storage set from Pyrex, and so much more. Find all of my picks below.

A Shopping Editor’s Holiday Wish List

Beautiful by Drew Barrymore 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker

Walmart

I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year, and I’m definitely stressed about how I’m going to get all of my sides hot and ready to eat at the same time as my turkey. A slow cooker is an easy way to free up oven space in a no-brainer, set-it-and-forget-it way. All of Drew Barrymore’s kitchenware is actually beautiful, but I’m especially enamored with the holiday-ready thyme green hue of this slow cooker and the fact of its six-quart capacity—which can feed up to seven people. It has five cooking functions, automatically switches to warming mode once the timer is up, and its handles never get hot, so it’s easy to carry around. Plus, the interior pot is dishwasher safe.

OXO Softworks Little Salad Spinner

Walmart

I’ve owned OXO’s larger salad spinner for a few years now and am continuously obsessed with how easy it makes washing lettuce, but if it has one flaw, it’s that the colander’s slots are too big for smaller greens, like herbs, chopped leeks, and wild blueberries. So, it’s safe to say that when I saw the brand has a mini version of this kitchen staple, I immediately added it to my wish list. The smaller spinner has all of the same tried-and-true components of its big sister: It has a simple yet incredibly effective design that allows you to fully submerge veggies in water, drain them, and spin them to crisp, dry perfection for salads and roasting. But this one is special because it can do all of the above with twice as many ingredients.

Staub Cast Iron 3-Quart Tomato Cocotte

Walmart

I’ve been pining over Staub’s tomato-shaped cocotte for years. I own the pumpkin that will be the vessel for my mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving and the small artichoke that houses my spinach artichoke dip, and I can’t wait to add this tomato to my collection to make and serve casseroles in all winter long. The heirloom-quality enameled cast iron pot is a kitchen workhorse because it’s oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, heats evenly all the way around, and is beautiful enough to go from the kitchen straight onto your dining table.

Pyrex 14-Piece Simply Store Glass Container Set with Lids

Walmart

I’m guilty of owning too many pieces of mismatched food savers—most of them stained orange from years of preserving marinara sauce, so a brand new, stain-proof glass set is at the top of my list. Naturally, when I found this affordable 14-piece set from Pyrex, a brand that even my grandmother trusted, I was thrilled. It comes with round and rectangular containers with matching lids and each piece nests easily for organized storage and is microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe. One shopper mentioned that the glass is thick and doesn’t chip easily, which is right up my clumsy alley, too.

Keep scrolling for even more of my wish list items, and don’t forget to check out Walmart’s enormous collection of cookware, bakeware, kitchen gadgets, appliances, and more for yourself or someone special this holiday season—especially once prices plummet online on Monday, November 25 at 5 p.m. ET (and a few hours early exclusively for Walmart+ members at 12 p.m. ET).
