Leading golf trolley brand Motocaddy has renewed its partnership with the Golf’s Greatest Holes TV show for a new series focused on Royal Portrush Golf Club ahead of its hosting of The Open Championship in July.

The partnership dates back three years to the original series filmed across the island of Ireland and included the second series that featured spectacular holes at courses in Portugal last year. ‘The Open Special’ Series is the first to feature every hole on the Dunluce Links course at Royal Portrush and is set to be viewed in more than 180 countries, including USA, China and Australia.

The latest Motocaddy electric trolley models – including the M5 GPS and M1 –  will used by co-presenters Paul McGinley and Chris Hollins during the six-part series, filmed using 4k super high-definition cameras and drones on the iconic links. The first episode of the new series was premiered on Sky Sports on January 28 at 6pm, with regular repeats.

McGinley and Hollins will be joined on different holes by a range of high-profile Irish players, including 2011 Open champion Darren Clarke, who is an honorary member at Royal Portrush, and actor James Nesbitt, who lives in Portrush and is an avid golfer.

“The Motocaddy brand and our leading products gained a lot from the global exposure generated by the first two Series of Golf’s Greatest Holes, so it was an easy decision to renew the partnership for an entertaining insight into the challenge presented at this year’s Open Championship,” said Motocaddy Marketing Director Oliver Churcher.

Commenting on behalf of Boulder Creek International, the production company behind Golf’s Greatest Holes, CEO Matt Jeschelnik said: “Having Motocaddy renew its partnership with the show is fantastic and reflects the value the brand sees in the style of presentation and the appeal among golfers for the relaxed, lifestyle approach conveyed by Paul and Chris. We look to take our partners on a journey to other parts of the world very soon, as the show gains admirers wanting to display their golf offering to a bigger audience.”

Since its launch in 2021, the first Series of Golf’s Greatest Holes has reached an estimated 1 billion households in 189 countries, thanks to screenings by more than 40 broadcasters and leading airlines around the world. It’s also engaged with some 50 million digital viewers, as well as a significant social media audience.
