Mother accused of leaving child in hot car while shopping at Hollywood Walmart

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A mother was arrested over the weekend after police said she left her child in a hot car while she shopped at a Walmart in Hollywood for more than 30 minutes.

According to investigators, Anastasia Moloto, 34, was seen on surveillance cameras inside the store located at 301 S. State Rd 7 just after 3 p.m. Sunday, while her child was in a car that was not running, with the window slightly cracked.

Hollywood police officers arrived at the scene and, with the help of fire rescue personnel, assisted the child out of the car.

Authorities confirmed Moloto was taken into custody and faces one count of child neglect.

Moloto did not appear as an inmate on the Broward Sheriff’s Office jail website as of Wednesday afternoon.

No further details have been released about the child’s age, gender or condition.
