More ways than ever to customize your local news

Must read

Todd Krysiak

A reader contacted me last week with a question about content on www.lacrossetribune.com.

She wondered why the La Crosse Tribune hosts podcasts, videos and other media types online when this particular newspaper reader preferred traditional news articles.

I have fielded a number of variations of this question about content formats and presentation online. Some readers want more podcasts and video content, while others prefer a more traditional newspaper presentation of stories with photos.

My answers for these readers is we have options that allow you to customize your experience and tailor the types of news you receive to match your preferences.

For this particular reader, I recommended she check out our daily E-edition, a digital version of the printed paper. The E-edition offers a more traditional newspaper experience than our website’s home page, but also gives subscribers access to read the latest version of a news article by clicking on it, even after the print edition has been sent to press.

People are also reading…

The E-edition is published seven days a week and readers can zoom in on the text to make it as large as they like on a screen. If you have a print or digital subscription, access to the E-edition is included.

Other readers prefer our mobile apps on Apple and Android phones. Our app is routinely updated with new features and offers readers the opportunity to prioritize different news sections, receive notifications about breaking news, save stories to read later and access a mobile version of the daily E-edition. Our app has a new look and improved functionality, so if you tried our app before and decided it wasn’t for you, maybe give it another shot.

La Crosse Tribune email newsletters add yet another opportunity for readers to customize the news they receive. Go to www.lacrossetribune.com/newsletters to sign up and select which emails you would like to receive, whether that is the latest breaking news stories, obituaries, news alerts, news updates, daily headlines, sports or an assortment of other news options we will email to you. One of our most popular newsletters is the e-Edition newsletter, which includes a preview of the day’s front page and a direct link to today’s edition.

For those who want to keep up to speed on the latest news and updates with all we have to offer from photo collections to stories, local video to podcasts, our website remains the best option to see all the La Crosse Tribune has to offer.

If you’re like me and still prefer the physical, printed newspaper but are curious to see all of these digital options, your print subscription unlocks all of these features to help you stay up-to-date when you’re on the move.

Our mission is to engage, inform and empower readers and subscribers has more options than ever before to customize the content you receive.

Thank you for your support of local journalism.
