The 2024 Western Dakota Association (WDA) regional volleyball tournament being hosted by Minot High School began on Thursday, November 14, with four games played at the quarterfinal stage.
The winners will play in the semifinals today at Minot High with the finals, third place and fifth place matches on Saturday, November 16.

The two local high school teams came into the match with a 1-1 series record on the regular season. The Sentinels played their way to the WDA tournament with a win last week and faced the third seeded Majettes in the final game of day one.
The ‘home’ team was focused and held steady despite the high level of energy from the Minot North team and fans enroute to scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-12 for the sweep.
The Majettes were led by Jayda Schall with 13 kills while Kynsli Gillmore added ten at the net. Leah Walter had nine kills while Sydney Aberle had three and Eve Knutson added one kill in the win.
Raigan Terrel posted 13 digs while Mya Bogden tallied 11 for Minot High. Nicole Couture had eight, Everett Deschamp added seven and Mackinzie Dufner six digs in the win. Aberle, Schall and Knutson each added a block at the net.
Terrel had three aces while Couture and Deschamp each had two. Aberle added one ace for the Majettes.
Minot High will face Bismarck High in the semifinal game today, November 15, at 7 p.m. for a shot at the championship on Saturday.

The Jamestown Blue Jays had an upset on the mind as they battled the second seeded Demons from Bismarck High in the quarterfinals. Despite the competitive focus by Jamestown and the high energy by the fans and players, Bismarck High was able to overcome the early 1-1 tie match with scores of 25-21, 19-25, 25-21 and 25-20 for the win and the chance to move forward into the semifinals.
Bismarck High will face Minot High in the semi final bracket today, November 15, at Minot High at 7 p.m. for a shot at the WDA title on Saturday, November 16, at Minot High.

Top seeded Bismarck Century had little trouble with the eighth seeds from Williston with scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-14 enroute to the sweep in the quarterfinals and a shot at the fourth seeds from Dickinson at 5 p.m. today, November 15, at the Minot High School.

The Midgets from Dickinson played the fifth seeds from Bismarck Legacy in the quarterfinals and built scoring of 25-13, 25-21 and 29-27 enroute to the sweep and advance to play the top seeds from Bismarck Century in the semifinal game today.
