DUNKIRK — Maple Grove escaped Dunkirk with a 3-2 nonleague victory 27-25, 26-24, 19-25, 19-25, 15-9 on Monday.

The Red Dragons needed extra time to secure its first two wins before dropping the next two sets and then had to dig deep to squeeze on the road win in the fifth and final set.

Dunkirk drops to 1-1 overall while Maple Grove starts the year with a victory.

EAGLES SWEEP JAMESTOWN

JAMESTOWN — Karagan Fairbank had four kills, four aces, 11 digs and 11 assists as Chautauqua Lake swept nonleague Jamestown 25-14, 25-10, 25-17.

Jeanine Group had five kills, six aces and four digs, while Kinslee Motter had six kills and two aces for the Eagles.

Raegan Powers had three aces and 12 digs, while Grayson Bloomquist had 14 digs and three aces for the Red & Green.

Chautauqua Lake won the jayvee match.
