A hefty number of consumers, 83%, plan to shop online for holiday gifts and item this year, yet fewer consumers plan to shop exclusively online.

That latter trend bodes well for the physical retailer, according to the Holiday Purchase Intentions report from Circana.

The report data revealed 74% of holiday shoppers plan to shop both online and in-store, while 16% plan to shop exclusively in-store, both increasing slightly from last year’s shopping plans, according to a press release.

“Convenience and value are paramount for consumers, creating an interesting dance between e-commerce and physical retail this holiday shopping season,” Marshal Cohen, chief retail advisor for Circana, said in the release.. “More than ever, holiday shoppers will be utilizing all shopping channels and resources to maximize their spending ability and overall shopping experience.”
