AI and digital innovations take centre stage
- To manage the massive crowds, AI-enabled cameras, RFID wristbands,
drone surveillance and mobile app tracking will be deployed to monitor pilgrim movement throughout the 45-day event. This will allow for efficient crowd regulation by tracking entry and exit times with participants’ consent. - Devotees can relive key events like the Peshwai procession and Ganga Aarti through 360-degree virtual reality stalls.
- A drone show featuring 2,000 drones will illuminate the night sky, narrating legendary tales and highlighting Prayagraj’s spiritual significance.
- The UP government has launched “Kumbh Sah’AI’yak”, an AI-powered chatbot in 11 languages, to assist pilgrims. This chatbot will provide visitors with all the necessary information regarding key dates and events at the Maha Kumbh.

- Four types of QR codes are being installed in the Mela area for the convenience of the devotees. In case of an emergency, visitors can scan the red QR code to get immediate assistance.
Enhanced safety and security
- With an expected influx of over 45 crore devotees, cybersecurity is paramount. A dedicated cyber police station, 56 cyber experts, and 40 Variable Messaging Displays (VMDs) will combat online threats and raise awareness about cyber fraud.
- A mobile cyber team will conduct large-scale public awareness campaigns to protect visitors from online scams.
- To ensure the safety and well-being of attendees, remote-controlled life buoys and underwater drones are being deployed to enhance safety near water bodies.
AI-powered cameras , drones, and anti-drone systems will provide comprehensive surveillance. - Drone surveys and GIS-based maps will aid in land mapping and facilitate easy navigation for attendees. Public utilities like hospitals, toilets, and food courts will be readily accessible on Google Maps.

- Online bookings for stays at Maha Kumbh Gram will be available through the
IRCTC website and its partners, Make My Trip and Go IBIBO. - High-tech Lost and Found registration centers will aid in reuniting lost pilgrims with their families through digital registration and social media updates.
