LSU Law Alumni, Louisiana CPAs name board members

The Baton Rouge Area Chamber recently presented its annual Diversity Star Award to Capital Area United Way and Dow.

United Way was honored in the small business category for its commitment to diversity and inclusion guiding and directing its employment practices, agency and program funding, volunteer recruitment and service delivery. Specific programming includes its dedication to equitable hiring practices with a leadership team that is 70% women.

Dow was honored in the large business category. Dow was selected for its exceptional diversity, equity and inclusion practices within the company and the community. Specific practices include its executive inclusion, diversity and equity objective, which aims to improve the representation of people of color at the associate vice president level by 5% and the representation of women at the director level by 2%, and its supplier diversity team.

Robert Kallam has been appointed chair of the LSU Law Alumni Board of Trustees for the 2024-26 term.

Kallam is managing partner at Kean Miller in Lafayette. He has been a member of the board of trustees since 2010 and is a member of the LSU Law Center Hall of Fame.

The Society of Louisiana CPAs recently elected its 2024-25 board of directors.

Bridget Kaigler, of Baton Rouge, was named the organization’s 2024-25 chair. A board member since 2021, Kaigler is the first woman of color to chair the nonprofit association in its 113-year history. She is the senior director of tax and regulatory reporting at Amedisys.

Anthony Rutledge, of LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors in Covington, is chair-elect. Kenneth Champagne, of Confie in Baton Rouge, is treasurer. J. Bryan Ehricht, of James, Lambert, Riggs and Associates Inc. in Hammond, is immediate past chair.

New board members are Laura Wiley, of Baton Rouge; Jessica Cormier, of Baton Rouge; Nene Glenn Gianfala, of New Orleans; James Schneider, of New Orleans; Brett Summerville, of New Orleans; and Nicolette Releford, of Bastrop.

Continuing to serve on the board are Diane Allison, of Baton Rouge, and Samantha Falgout, of Houma.
