WASHINGTON, DC. (KNOE) – Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry testified before Congress on Wednesday, Jan. 15 regarding infrastructure development and transportation in the state.
Governor Landry says while infrastructure funding has increased in the United States, Louisiana has not received the amount needed. As a result, he says consumers have been facing delays due to slow infrastructure development.
“Our waterways and bridges help each and everyone of you in your districts. Louisiana has five of the top fifteen ports in the country. Without the investment in our roads, bridges and ports, the supply chain falters and manufacturers slow. Consumers face delays and we’re losing. We’re losing in that,” says Governor Landry.
Landry says Louisiana’s need for infrastructure development is critical for cargo transportation across the U.S.
