Local High Schooler Starts Rodeo Finals Journey Sunday

Must read

A New Media Broadcasters listening area rodeo cowgirl is set to embark at the 76th annual National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR). Cassie Gibson, an 11th grader from North Star High School in Rudyard, will be one of 49 Montanans to represent the Treasure State at this year’s festivities as they join forces to try and win a team championship.

Gibson completed her quest to enter into the world’s largest field of rodeo participants as a goat-tying expert, riding on the horse Spiderman, which is the same horse that middle schooler Cayden Chapman guided to the National Junior High Rodeo Finals last month.

Almost 2,000 rodeo cowboys and cowgirls from the high school ranks will come together for healthy competition. They span 44 states, five Canadian provinces, Mexico, and the Oceania region.

The 2024 NHSFR will be taking place in Rock Springs, WY from Jul. 14 through 20.
