FREDONIA — Kiera Loberg scored 21 points to lead Panama past Fredonia 45-34 in nonleague girls basketball Tuesday evening at Fredonia High School.

Kaitlyn Horton added 12 points for the Panthers (1-0, 0-0), who led 24-18 at halftime.

Madelyn Polhamus led the Hillbillies (0-2, 0-0) with 12 points and Naomi Muck had 11.

BEARS PULL AWAY FROM CASSADAGA VALLEY

FREWSBURG — Jadyn Trocki and Ava Jimerson combined for 16 of Frewsburg’s 26 second-quarter points as the Bears pulled away from Cassadaga Valley for a 72-48 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East victory.

Jimerson finished with a game-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Trocki had 21 points to go along with 11 rebounds, eight steals and seven assists for Frewsburg (1-0, 1-0), which advanced to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C final a year ago.

The Bears led 15-9 after the first quarter before outscoring the Cougars 26-13 in the second quarter to take a 41-22 lead into halftime.

Teghan Trocki had 13 points and three assists; Abery Harvey had 10 points; and Taytum Jimerson had four six rebounds and four steals for Frewsburg.

Emiley Anderson led Cassadaga Valley (0-1, 0-1) with 14 points and eight assists; Maddie Debo had 12 points; and Aliyah Hopkins had 9 points and 12 rebounds.

RANDOLPH — Skylar Herington scored 16 of her game-high 33 points during an 18-8 second quarter as Randolph pulled away from Nichols en route to a 51-36 nonleague victory.

Herington finished with six 3-pointers, adding six steals and four rebounds. Quinn Pence had 11 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals, while Gianna Bowles grabbed seven rebounds.

Evelyn Walcott led Nichols with 16 points.

SHERMAN — Baya Oehlbeck hit a pair of 3-pointers during a 12-2 first quarter to send Sherman well on its way to a 39-22 Division 2 West win over Westfield.

Emmersen Crawford led the Wildcats (2-0, 1-0) with 10 points and nine rebounds; Jayne Chambers had 9 points and six rebounds; Oehlbeck had 9 points and four steals; Teagan Gratto had seven rebounds and five steals; and Kelsey Wagner had four steals.

Naomi Ottey had 8 points and seven rebounds; Mackenzie Schumaker had 8 points and four rebounds; and Sydney Hotchkiss had 13 rebounds, two steals and two assists for the Wolverines (0-2, 0-1). Olivia Wolfe had three steals and Sophia Wolfe had two steals in defeat.

PANTHERS ROLL

SOUTH DAYTON — Behind a balanced scoring attack, Pine Valley defeated Cattaraugus-Little Valley 61-22 in a Division 2 East game.

Paige Hohl led the way with 14 points, Sarah Kruszka had 12, Sandy Ivett chipped in 11 and Danielle West contributed 9 for the winners. Brooke Smith grabbed five rebounds.

The Panthers led 25-4 after the first quarter.

NORTH COLLINS ROLLS

WEST VALLEY — Morgan Kreinheder tallied 9 points to lead North Collins to a 32-7 victory over West Valley in a Division 2 East game.

North Collins put the game away by outscoring West Valley 22-5 in the second half.

SILVER CREEK PREVAILS

SILVER CREEK — Gracelin Stevens scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Silver Creek to a 58-12 win over Brocton in a Division 2 West game.

Khloe Karnes chipped in 16 points and Gracie Williams added 12 for the Black Knights, who led 34-5 at halftime.
