A final hearing is scheduled for Oct. 15, giving locals one last chance to weigh in on the city’s plan to issue up to $4 million in water bonds
HEBER CITY, Utah – Heber City is in the middle of a multi-year, multimillion-dollar project to replace its aging water and sewer infrastructure. Initially budgeted at $43 million in 2022, the project’s price tag has surged due to “extraordinary inflationary pressures,” according to city manager Matt Brower.
By the numbers:
- The city now expects construction to cost an additional $12.5 million.
- To cover the increase, the council passed three resolutions in September:
- Issuing $2 million in irrigation bonds
- Issuing $6.5 million in sewer bonds
City officials also secured $5.9 million in supplemental sewer funding from the Community Impact Board to help offset costs.
