WASHINGTON (KNOE) – Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy announced funding to improve local airports, and one of those airports is in the Northeast Louisiana region.
Cassidy’s announcement said the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is granting Louisiana $24,765,278 to improve local airports. The funding is part of Cassidy’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
The LaSalle Economic Development District will be granted $118,123 of the funding to go toward rehabilitation of runway pavement markings.
“Airports are the first impression our state makes on businesses, investors, and families looking to come to Louisiana,” Cassidy said. “The infrastructure law provides funding to build Louisiana’s economy for 2050.”
Other recipients are as follows:
- Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport – $13,145,438
- Lakefront Management Authority – $7,778,390
- St. Mary Parish Government – $3,289,327
- Shreveport Airport Authority – $434,000
