Kate’s awkward back-to-school shopping moment with George and Charlotte

Must read

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are enjoying the final days of their summer holidays before the new school begins year next week.

They’re set to return to Lambrook School following their summer break and recent visit to Balmoral to join other Royal Family members. They began attending the school in 2022 after the Wales family relocated to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

In past years, Princess Kate has been seen accompanying the children on shopping trips, getting them new clothes and shoes.

However, there was one occasion when the Princess of Wales’ trip to get George and Charlotte fitted for new school shoes didn’t go as smoothly as planned, resulting in a common blunder.

In 2018, she was seen at the Peter Jones department store in London with her two eldest children. A source revealed to Hello! that Kate had forgotten to bring socks for George and Charlotte to wear while trying on their new shoes.

The children were wearing their summer sandals during their shoe-shopping trip, so Princess Kate had to reportedly ask to borrow socks from the store so they could try on shoes.

Before enrolling at Lambrook, George and Charlotte were students at Thomas’s School in Battersea, while Louis attended Wilcocks Nursery School in South Kensington.

Their current school, Lambrook, is a day and boarding institution catering to boys and girls aged three to 13 years. For now, the Wales children are day pupils.

At Lambrook, they have access to an array of facilities including the school’s own orchard, woodland, a nine-hole golf course, a 25-metre swimming pool, and a cricket pitch.

However, in just a few short years, George will leave Lambrook for secondary school.

Last year, it was disclosed that George was sitting for school exams, which led to Kate not accompanying Prince William to the 2023 Earthshot Prize in Singapore so she could support her eldest son.

It was noted that the preliminary entrance exams for Eton College, known as ISEBs, coincided with the Earthshot Prize during the first week of November. Several other prestigious private schools also utilise these exams.

Last summer, George was seen visiting Eton, where Prince William attended as a youngster, where annual fees amount can total £46,000.

Kate was spotted conversing with two employees of the renowned and historic school, dressed in an elegant aquamarine dress and ballet pumps, according to Hello! magazine.

Prince William was the first senior Royal to attend Eton, followed by his brother Prince Harry, who went there from 1998 to 2003.
