It’s not very often when we get to see Kate Middleton photographed outside royal events, but earlier this week, paparazzi captured the Princess of Wales enjoying a bit of retail therapy while out and about in London.
Newly released photos show Kate, who appeared to be solo, shopping for eye glasses at Finlay in Notting Hill. While it’s unclear what kind of spectacles she purchased, Kate famously owns a pair of the brand’s Henrietta sunglasses which she has worn publicly numerous times.
For the occasion, Kate dressed casually, wearing a black wool wrap coat over dark gray trousers, lug sole boots, and what looks to be the same gingham scarf she donned for her 41st birthday portrait from earlier this month. She accessorized with a $1,195 taupe Smythson Mini Lytton Crossbody Bag, which she carried in the crook of her arm while heading out the doors of the shop.
The outing comes days after Kate made her first public engagement of 2025 at the London hospital where she received chemotherapy treatment last year and revealed her cancer was in remission. “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery,” she wrote in a personal message after visiting The Royal Marsden hospital. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
