Kate Middleton spotted shopping for glasses during rare solo outing in London

Must read

Kate Middleton stepped out for some light shopping during a solo outing in London earlier this week.

The Princess of Wales, 43, looked chic as she bundled up for a visit to London’s swanky Notting Hill neighborhood Tuesday evening.

During her outing, the mom of three browsed a selection of glasses at Finlay & Co — a luxury brand that designs its frames locally.

While it’s unclear exactly which frames she purchased, the princess was seen leaving the store with a shopping bag.

The senior royal is a known fan of the brand, and has been spotted wearing their sunglasses on several occasions.

Inside the store, Middleton chatted away to members of staff as she searched for the perfect frames.

It’s believed that the royal spent the night at the nearby Kensington Palace, before returning to her home in Windsor the following day.

During her low-key outing, Princess Catherine stayed warm in a navy Max&Co. wool coat, which she also owns in camel and pink, as well as a pair of gray Sézane trousers.

Middleton accessorized with a Smythson bag, diamond leaf-shaped earrings and a plaid scarf.

After images of the royal’s solo outing circulated online, fans have praised the future queen for being down to earth.

“Great to see her out and about just doing everyday things,” one person wrote on social media.

While another added, “Lovely to see her enjoying some time out on her own. It does a world of good.”

The princess’ appearance comes just one week after she announced that her cancer is now in remission.

Still, the welcome update doesn’t mean she’s looking to dive back into public-facing duties in full swing just yet.

Instead, Princess Catherine will ease into the year by taking on a fraction of the workload she would typically have on her calendar.

Currently, the princess’ diary does not include any full-scale foreign tours, and it will be a while before she returns to the royal fold in full — given that her cancer recovery remains on track.

Still, the public can expect to see the beloved future queen attend key events, such as the Trooping the Colour ceremony, which is her “No. 1 priority” among royal engagements.

Senior members of the Firm are reportedly currently throwing their hats in the ring to be considered for a trip to the US following President Trump’s inauguration.

Earlier this month, the royal rang in her 43rd birthday and enjoyed a post-Christmas ski trip in the Alps with Prince William and their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
